Restival is an innovative fusion of retreat and festival. A new annual creative nomadic gathering, the shared experience offers intrepid travellers intimate events in off-the-grid locations.

With a strong emphasis on well-being and creativity, Restival gives people the opportunity to create and recharge as well as become members of a modern tribe of culture seekers who scour the globe for new experiences.

During a year-long partnership, majestic disorder media was selected exclusively as the media partner where we co-launched and co-hosted the inaugural Restival.

In November 2015, the five-day event took place at a luxury eco-camp situated in the Sahara desert about 10 hours outside of Marrakesh.

Targeting creative professionals looking to switch off and digitally detox from technology, the programming included meditation, yoga, live music, film nights, sandboarding, camel rides, sound baths, writing workshops and art installations.

Over the course of 12 months our team oversaw complete community and brand development including logo and advertisement design, visual identity, extensive media relations, marketing, social media campaigns, creating press and influencer events, a design collaboration, on-site pop-up shop and building creative partnerships.

Introducing the UK press to Restival, we organised a morning event on the Dalston Rooftop Park, which drew editors and journalists from titles such as Conde Nast Traveller, The Telegraph and The Sunday Times. Guests were treated to sunrise yoga, an organic breakfast, copies of majestic disorder issue five and were introduced to the concept of Restival.

Rather than opting for traditional marketing campaigns, we created a design collaboration with New York based textile label Printed Pattern People. Overseeing art and creative direction, the sustainable artisanal collection included turbans, kaftans, woven bracelets and bags, which were highly received by press, picked up by retailers and nearly sold out instantly through strategic social media promotion.

Throughout the course of several months leading up to Restival, we used innovative new media strategies such as launch parties, interactive brand partnerships and social content to cross promote Restival to our community and similar brands aligning with the ethos of Restival.

We also secured prominent press coverage including a feature in WGSN’s 2016 Think Tank Report on global festivals. WGSN is the world’s leading lifestyle trend forecasting firm and one of the most influential voices within the industry.

As a result of our partnership and tapping into our extensive network of global creatives, 30% of total ticket sales were booked on behalf of majestic disorder’s travel forward community and readership.
